CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
Task 1: Find your list of current patients
Task 2: Find named patient and add visit type
Task 3: Delete the visit you created
Task 4: Find when the OT is visiting this pt next
Sorry! This prototype isn't quite ready yet.
WellSky trademarked their software in 2019. It is now 2025 and there have been massive technological advancements in these past 6 years. Healthcare software has struggled with catching up with these advancements due to the complexity of their platforms. Let's dig a bit deeper to see what WellSky could update next - based on research!
Create two designs to determine which provides the best functionality and accessibility for users. Focus on data, research, and current users feedback to enforce evidence-based design decisions.

Find the list of your current patients
DESIGN A
DESIGN B
Task 1

"That was so easy.
It was so obvious."
"I expected it to be an easy clickable."
Find named patient and add visit type

DESIGN B
Task 2

"The pop-up window helps.. focus my attention"
"I don't like this,
not very user friendly."
Delete the visit you created
DESIGN A
DESIGN B
Task 3

"Very easy and I liked it asked me if I wanted to do that"
"Insert/update task does not make sense to me"
Find when the OT is visiting this patient next
DESIGN A
DESIGN B
Task 4

"The vocabulary is misleading"
"Trying to read a list of words and dates is confusing"
The design difference: WHY?
Design A is the current design. The "My Patients" page is hidden under the "Go To" tab and requires 2 clicks to find.
Design B displays "My Patients" on the home page which eliminates the extra click required to find this highly desired page.
The design difference: WHY?
Design A is the current design. The user fills in the "visit type, assign to, date" sections using large choice texts and the calendar, then clicks "insert" to finalize.
Design B opens a pop-up which narrows the visual field to focus on the 3 main areas instead of scanning the whole page. Then clicks "save" to finalize.
The design difference: WHY?
Design A is the current design. The user must select the item to be deleted and then click "insert" to save changes.
Design B adds a visual "trash" icon and then confirms the deletion with a pop-up window. You must click "delete" to save changes.
The design difference: WHY?
Design A is the current design. The user can look at the color-coded calendar or under the "status" column to determine the next visit scheduled with OT.
Design B alters the color-coded calendar, but keeps the existing "status" column which allows the user two different areas to look to determine this answer.
I'm open to new opportunities and
always happy to connect or brainstorm ideas.
